Michael Finch
After 48 years on the west side and decades of community service, I'm ready to bring common-sense solutions and strong representation to Magna, West Valley City, and Salt Lake City.
Utah politics is starting to feel too much like Washington, D.C., with gridlock and out-of-touch priorities. It's time we had a leader focused on lowering everyday costs, improving our schools, and ensuring our communities thrive. I'm running to be that voice.
Why I’m Running
-
HD 26 is a working community. I believe in policies that put more money in your pocket, create good-paying local jobs, and ensure every family on the west side can afford to live, thrive, and build a better future.
-
Utah's election system is a model for the rest of the country. Our secure, convenient vote-by-mail system saves taxpayer money, makes it easier for working families to cast their ballot, and protects the integrity of every vote. I am committed to defending this proven process so that every Utahn can make their voice heard without waiting in long government lines.
-
When elected officials attack our courts and undermine the constitutional foundations that protect every American, it's a threat to all of us. I will stand up for fair and impartial justice, keep politicians from grabbing too much power, and ensure our government works for you, not special interests.
-
Every Utahn deserves to feel safe in their neighborhood. I serve on the West Valley City police department's Citizen Review Board, ensuring accountability and building community trust. I know firsthand what it takes to keep our streets safe.
I support empowering our local police, strengthening community watch programs, and expanding access to affordable mental healthcare and addiction treatment.
These practical solutions protect our loved ones, reduce crime, and build stronger communities where families can thrive.
-
Our diverse community, built by hardworking families, seniors, and local businesses, has been overlooked for too long. I’ll fight tirelessly for us by working to eliminate the state tax on Social Security benefits, ensuring our seniors keep more of what they've earned, and fully funding our neighborhood schools so every child gets a fair shot at a great education. It’s time the west side finally gets the attention and resources it deserves.
-
Our district borders the Great Salt Lake and families are feeling the consequences of past environmental failures. I will fight for common-sense solutions that deliver clean air, safe drinking water, and responsible growth, ensuring a healthy community for our kids and grandkids.
