About Michael

My wife Leisa and I have spent 48 years building our life on the west side of the Salt Lake Valley. Together we've raised 7 children and now celebrate 18 grandchildren. This community isn't where I'm from — it's who I am.

For 28 years, I owned and operated several successful small businesses in West Valley City. I know what it means to meet a payroll, serve your neighbors, and invest in the place you call home. That experience shaped how I think about policy: practically, not politically.

Leisa and I are in our 10th year volunteering on the West Valley City Westfest Committee, and I currently serve my 5th year on the Professional Standards Review Board — providing citizen oversight of the West Valley City Police Department. I believe in accountability, community engagement, and public service at every level.

Utah politics is starting to look a lot like Washington, D.C. When our own state legislators move to attack the courts and chip away at the constitutional safeguards that protect every Utahn, it becomes a real threat to the foundations of our democracy. Our community deserves someone who will stand up and say: the courts matter, the constitution matters, and the voters of this district matter. I'm running to be that voice.
